Red Faction: Origins is an upcoming feature-length television movie pilot being produced by Universal Media Studios and UFO Films debuting on SyFy, it is the first film in the Red Faction series of video games. The movie stars Brian J. Smith as Jake Mason and Robert Patrick as Alec Mason, the main protagonist of Red Faction: Guerilla. The film takes place between Red Faction: Guerilla and the upcoming Red Faction: Armageddon. The film will release in May 2011 to coincide with the release of the fourth game in the series, Red Faction Armageddon.
PLOT:
The film takes place twenty-five years after the events of Red Faction: Guerilla, when Alec Mason led the Red Faction and the Martian Colonies to freedom. Soon after Alec Mason started a family with his compatriot Samanya. However, thirteen years after the liberation of Mars, Alec Mason's vengeful enemies killed his wife Samanya and kidnapped his daughter Lyra leaving a broken hero left in its wake.

Two mutant brothers, Logan and Victor, born 200 years ago, suffer childhood trauma and have only each other to depend on. Basically, they re fighters and killers, living from war to war through U.S. history. In modern times, a U.S. colonel, Stryker, recruits them and other mutants as commandos. Logan quits and becomes a logger, falling in love with a local teacher. When Logan refuses to rejoin Stryker s crew, the colonel sends the murderous Victor. Logan now wants revenge.
